My First T-Shirt Quilt

Turn meaningful tees into a memory quilt top from start to finish.

Classes: Wednesdays Dates: March 11, 18, 25, 2025 Time: 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm Cost: $80 (3 sessions)

Many people have T-shirts that hold memories, though they no longer wear them. Instead of letting those shirts sit in a drawer, you can breathe new life into them by turning them into a T-shirt quilt.

This is your opportunity to make a T-shirt quilt top from start to finish. You’ll learn how to prep and cut T-shirts into blocks, choose fabric for sashing and borders, cut pieces to the correct sizes, lay out a pleasing design, and sew everything together to complete your quilt top.

Perfect for a graduation, college send-off, wedding gift, or a comforting quilt for someone under medical care.

What to bring

Students, please bring

Basic sewing supplies: straight pins, rotary cutter, 8" x 24" ruler, seam ripper
Sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, and manual (for the 2nd and 3rd class)
Notepad for taking notes

To make your T-shirt quilt

T-shirts: bring as many as you have (we’ll go through each one)
Stabilizer: 5 yards of Pellon SF101
Neutral thread (black or gray)
Clover Chaco Liner Pen Style in yellow
15" or larger square ruler

Project instructions are provided in class.
