From Funky Friends Factory - By Pauline McArthur

This chubby baby bear was designed for new sewers. Ben is easy to sew, with no complicated arm or leg joints. He sits up on his own and has a very wide, totally FLAT, single-piece tummy - perfect for displaying images from t-shirts & baby clothes. He has a 5 inch (12½ cm) square grid on the tummy piece so you can easily center embroidery designs! His feet also have a 4 inch(10cm) square grid with LOTS of room for adding names & dates for sewing memory bears. Create a cherished keepsake as a reminder of your baby’s first years, to mark a special occasion or milestone, to commemorate a lost loved one and bring comfort when words aren’t enough... or simply sew a keepsake bear just for YOU! Finished Size: 30cm (12inches) from table to top of head!

We look forward to you joining us for a fun class!

Supplies needed for class:

1. You will need to buy, download, and print the pattern from the internet:

https://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/beginner-bear-sewing-pattern

Some printed patterns are available on Amazon. These are more expensive than if you print your own patterns on the website above.

2. The pattern has the specific fabric measurements. There are 3 materials suggested and all are less than half a yard. I have done Ben in several colors of quilters cotton. I have seen him done in just one color, too—really cute! In addition, you will need a scrap piece about 5.5X 12 inches in a neutral color as a backing for the snout.

(If you want to do him in a stretchy fabric you may need some light weight adhesive interfacing.)

3. To mark your fabric, get a frixion erasable marker/pen or a chalk marker. You can color code the pattern pieces with 3 colors of fine point markers.

4. Long straight pins or clips.
