· Quilting your own quilt can be intimidating to both experienced and beginning quilters. The Westalee quilt rulers are a great tool to quilt on your own, but these tools do have a learning curve.

• Sewing Machine in good working order, manual, power cord and foot pedal
• Sewing Machine must be able to drop feed dogs
• Needle down feature a plus
• Ruler foot (many machines have a ruler foot designed for that specific machine A ruler foot is round with the needle position in the center and does not hop. Check with your dealer.)
• Eight 14” X 14” quilt sandwiches (fabric, batting, fabric) solid or near solid fabrics are best
• Chalk-o-liner, narrow chalk pen, or friXon erasable marker
• Thread: 50 or 60 weight polyester thread ( I like Glide) a shade or two darker than your fabric
• Clear scotch tape 1/2 inch wide
• 12 1/2” Centering Ruler (Sew Biz-Donelle Mc Adams) preferred or
• A narrow 14-18 inch ruler you use with your rotary cutter
• 90/14 sewing machine needle
• Scissors
• Self threading hand sewing needles
• Best Press and iron your top layers twice before class
