How Does This Sewing Machine Work?

Familiarizing Yourself with your Sewing Machine, Reducing Frustration, and Not Throwing It Out the Window

If you are not sure how to operate your sewing machine, there will be a one-day class from 1:30-3:30 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 to familiarize yourself with your sewing machine. We will thread the machine, wind bobbins, brush out lint, figure out where the settings are and what they do, and maybe change the needle. Then we will do a beginning sewing exercise designed to help you learn how to control your sewing machine.

You will need to bring your sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, sewing manual, spool of thread, basic sewing kit, and some extra sewing machine needles, preferably size 14. Quilters HQ has sewing machine needles in stock if you need to purchase some.

A basic sewing kit should include a pair of scissors, a pin cushion of some variety, pins, a seam ripper, measuring tape, seam gauge, and a fabric marking pencil/marker.
