Holiday Table Topper



Choose your favorite holiday fabrics and learn a simple reproduction of the Wedding Ring quilt pattern. This small project could lead to a larger quilt.

Supplies:

  •          Sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, manual
  •          6”x24” ruler
  •          Thread that coordinates with fabric
  •          Basic sewing supplies (i.e. marking pens/chalk, scissors, pins/clips, seam ripper, rotary cutter, pencil/pen, etc.)
  •          Handy to bring:

Small iron and pressing mat

Starch spray and water spray

 

**Special Note:  If you will be making the tree napkins in the Dec. 7 class to go with your topper you will need to have extra fabric of two colors to coordinate with your topper A half-yard of each fabric is enough for four napkins.

 

Fabrics for the project:

  •          Four 10-inch squares (main background)

These can be all the same or four all different or two and two

  •          Fat Quarter or equivalent for the rings and outer orange peel appliqués in a contrasting or complementary color to the four squares. Solids or near-solid color
  •          Hotfix Adhesive (available at QHQ) or similar iron-on paper-backed fusible   for Wedding Ring Shapes
  •          Backing and Batting

       24-26 inches square

  •          Binding fabric: 86 inches in length
