Quilt Block Corner #8 • Machine embroidery is so much fun!

So you have an embroidery machine and dream of making things with it. Now is your time! Join our 2026 Embroidery Club once a month to explore many different embroidery machine techniques. There are many techniques — maybe some you have never tried. Go for it! Stretch your creativity and make it happen. We will be using wonderful designs and projects from OESD.

Fee: $25 per class plus the cost of the embroidery design and supplies

Quilt Block Corner #8 (OESD Design 12940-08)

Napkins with this corner design would be so cute on your table — or turn it into a quilt block! This is a great appliqué-focused session that builds skills you’ll use again and again.

Techniques you will learn
  • Stitching appliqué designs
  • Hooping duplicate layers
  • Placing appliqué fabric, stitching, and trimming
Supplies and equipment

Equipment

  • Embroidery machine
  • Power cord and foot pedal
  • Machine manual (recommended)
  • Hoop: 5" x 7", 8" x 8", 10" x 8" or 12" x 8"
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • USB with design loaded

Supplies

  • Bobbin thread and thread colors of your choice
  • Embroidery needle sharp size 75/11
  • Fabric: 1/2 yard white quilter’s cotton for background
  • (4) 5 inch squares quilter’s cotton for appliqué
  • Stabilizers:
    • OESD Fusible Woven Stabilizer
    • OESD Fusible Fleece
