This cute Waves of Glory quilt or wall hanging features an easy fold-over and top-stitch technique. Use your favorite red, white, and blue scraps to create a stunning project.

No curved cutting or piecing required — just fold over a bias edge and top stitch. A great technique to add to your quilting toolkit.

What to bring

Equipment

Sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, manual
Thread, needles, bobbins, ¼" foot
45mm rotary cutter (new blade) & medium cutting mat
6" x 12" ruler
Long strong pins, seam ripper, scissors
Binder clips or Wonder Clips

Pre-Class Homework

Precut the following scraps:

For Quilt
White: (8) 4.5" squares, (4) 3.5" squares, (4) 3.5" x 6.6" rectangles
Blue: (1) 4.5" square, (4) 3.5" squares, (4) 2.5" squares
Red: (4) 3.5" squares, (4) 3.5" x 6.5" rectangles

For Wall Hanging
White: (8) 3.25" squares, (4) 2.5" squares, (4) 2.5" x 4.5" rectangles
Blue: (1) 3.25" square, (4) 2.5" squares, (4) 1.75" squares
Red: (4) 2.5" squares, (4) 2.5" x 4.5" rectangle

Fabric requirements:
Red, white, and blue scraps needed for class.
Border, backing, and binding will be added later.

Supplies

Waves of Glory pattern (available at QHQ)
Matching red, white, and blue thread or neutral thread
