Hexilicious is a fun, skill-building project that gives you the opportunity to explore several different quilting techniques in one project. It is scrap-friendly and fat-quarter-friendly, making it a great way to work with fabrics you already love.

The hexagon blocks allow you to practice appliqué, foundation paper piecing, English paper piecing, and traditional piecing. With two setting options and multiple size possibilities, you can customize the finished project to fit your own style.

Not sure about trying a new quilting technique? This project lets you sample several techniques in a relaxed setting while building skills and confidence along the way.

Sewing machine with 1/4-inch foot
45mm rotary cutter
12.5-inch ruler, any width
60-degree ruler; Creative Grids preferred
Rotary cutting mat
Pins
Seam ripper
Neutral thread
Typical sewing supplies

Fabric Requirements

3 yards of background fabric
6–8 coordinating fat quarters
Pattern provided by the instructor
Lunch and a drink
