Betsy Chutchian
Betsy Chutchian is a celebrated quilt historian, author, and fabric designer whose passion for 19th-century quilting traditions has shaped her career. Inspired by an antique quilt top made by her great-grandmother, Betsy taught herself to quilt and has since dedicated herself to preserving and reproducing the beauty of antique quilts and historic fabrics.
A co-founder of the 19th Century Patchwork Divas, Betsy is a leader in studying and recreating 1800s-era quilting. She has authored several books, including Hope's Journey, Gone to Texas, and Lizzie's Legacy, sharing her knowledge and love for early American quiltmaking.
As a Moda Fabrics designer, Betsy's fabric collections capture vintage textiles' rich colors, patterns, and textures, making them accessible to today's quilters. Based in Grand Prairie, Texas, she continues to teach, write, and inspire quilters who appreciate the artistry and history of traditional quiltmaking.
