Sarah Watts – Designer & Illustrator
When your means are limited, imagination becomes your most powerful tool—and Atlanta-based designer Sarah Watts has turned hers into a lifelong career. From childhood days spent sketching, inventing playhouses, and making art out of nothing, Sarah developed a passion that carried her through challenging times and blossomed into a creative livelihood. By high school, she was already selling posters, holiday window paintings, and custom artwork, discovering early on that her artistic talent could also be her career path.
After earning her degree in illustration from Ringling College, Sarah began designing baby clothes for a children’s brand. While the role honed her technical skills, she soon felt the pull to explore her own style. That opportunity came when she created her first fabric collection with Blend Fabrics, leading her deeper into the textile world. As a founding designer with Cotton+Steel, Sarah found both her creative voice and a community of makers who shared her belief in the power of collaboration. Joining Ruby Star Society only strengthened that connection, as she continues to bring her imaginative, playful, and sometimes darkly whimsical vision to fabric lovers worldwide.
Beyond fabric, Sarah also co-founded Craftedmoon, an eco-friendly stationery and gift brand she runs with her husband and daughter. Long a dream of hers, the line celebrates creativity with humor, honesty, and charm—especially for cat lovers, sewists, and yarn enthusiasts. Whether through textiles or paper goods, Sarah’s work continues to inspire makers everywhere to embrace creativity, togetherness, and a little bit of fun along the way.
